Movin' and Groovin' to Max & Maggie & the Driving Wheels and Janet Shepherd!
Dance at Decatur Rec each Friday from 7:30 - 10:30 pm

Hi Contrarians!
This Friday we’ll be dancing to the irresistible rhythms of Max & Maggie and the Driving Wheels!
The foursome includes Max Godfrey on fiddle, Maggie Hall on guitar, Tre Watts on bass, and Evan Kinney on 5-string and 4-string banjos.
Janet Shepherd calls the dances that keep us in motion.
And YOU may just feel your feet leave the ground and soar into the stratosphere!
Come early to help our new dancers learn the basics. Intro lesson starts at 7:30, and the dance runs from 8 till 10:30. Click here for more info.
Can’t get enough? Here are TWO midweek opportunities to dance:
Tuesday evenings at the Trolley Barn (click here for info and future schedule)!
Wednesday evening caller practice at Quiman Lam’s!
If you’ve ever wanted to try calling a dance in a safe, supportive place …
If you want to learn how to fit a dance to the perfect piece of music (consult the house band wizards!) …
If you want to dance more than just on Fridays …
Text Quimin at 404-429-9164 for more info and directions. Hope to see you there!
Weekly gentle reminder: please check in and pay at the Decatur Rec staff desk before entering the dance hall. Regular admission is $15; people with limited income can pay $7.
We cherish the VOLUNTEERS who keep our dance running smoothly! Here’s how you can help:
Come early to help with heavy lifting for Sound setup
Sweep the dance floor before the dance
Set out chairs and fans
Assemble the caller stand
Keep the info desk supplied with name tags and markers
Sweep the dance floor after the dance
Help put away chairs, tables, sound equipment, fans, and caller stand - we must be out of the building by 11 pm!
Enjoy a “bit and a bite” at a local eatery after the dance - to celebrate a job well done!
And as always, thank YOU for your support of Atlanta Contra Dance!
